Blairgowrie woman Tess Monteith who is about to embark on a 5,000 mile cycle ride along the ancient 'Silk Route' to raise funds for SCAA (Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance) with her daughter Francesca. Their route will take them from Suzhou in the east to Venice passing through China, Kygystan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgie, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia and Italy. The mother and daughter team are hoping to complete their journey in around four months. Tess is pictured with SCAA Paramedic John Salmond ahead of setting off on her journey.
