Pictured Black Watch veterans 100 year old Geordie Reid (centre) from Murthly who served in the 10th Battalion The Black Watch during WW2 pictured with 93 year old Colonel Ian Critchley OBE (right) who was a 19 year old Platoon Commander in the 7th Battalion The Black Watch who took part in the Rhine Crossing on 23rd March 1945 laying a wreath to honour the 8960 Black Watch men who lost their lives during The Great War assisted by Sgt Richard Catto of The Black Watch and Major Ronnie Proctor, Secretary of The Black Watch Association<br />
The formation of The Black Watch Regimental Association tok place in April 1919 in the aftermath of the Great War (1914-1918) and has three main objectives: 1. To provide support for vetrans & their families who fall on hard times.  2.  Is to erect, maintain & when neccesary renew or replace permanent memorials to those who served in the Regiment. 3.  To promote comradeship.<br />
The event took place at Balhousie Castle in Perth which is the Regimental home of The Black Watch.<br />

The annual Black Watch Commemoration Service to mark those who have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan and to all fallen Black Watch soldiers..The service was led by the Black Watch Association Chaplain Alex Forsyth who has had the sad task of burying seven Black Watch soldiers who were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.. The commemoration saw veterans and serving Black watch soldiers join with the families of those soldiers who had died in service.<br />

A decision was also made to hold an annual Remembrance Service for the families of those who were killed.<br />
Today is such a day and serving soldiers from The Black Watch/ 3 SCOTS will join the Reservists of 51st Highland /7 SCOTS and the old comrades of The Black Watch Association to pay their respects to those who died in those two conflicts as well as all those Black Watch men who served their Sovereign and Country. The service will be conducted by the Rev John Duncan; the lesson will be read by Lieutenant Colonel Graham Sefton Commanding Officer of The Black Watch/3 SCOTS <br />

The formation of The Black Watch Regimental Association tok place in April 1919 in the aftermath of the Great War (1914-1918) and has three main objectives: 1. To provide support for vetrans & their families who fall on hard times.  2.  Is to erect, maintain & when neccesary renew or replace permanent memorials to those who served in the Regiment. 3.  To promote comradeship.<br />
The event took place at Balhousie Castle in Perth which is the Regimental home of The Black Watch.<br />

Pictured Black Watch veterans 100 year old Geordie Reid (left) from Murthly who served in the 10th Battalion The Black Watch during WW2 pictured with 93 year old Colonel Ian Critchley OBE who was a 19 year old Platoon Commander in the 7th Battalion The Black Watch who took part in the Rhine Crossing on 23rd March 1945. The two veterans laid a wreath to honour the 8960 Black Watch men who lost their lives during The Great War.<br />
The formation of The Black Watch Regimental Association tok place in April 1919 in the aftermath of the Great War (1914-1918) and has three main objectives: 1. To provide support for vetrans & their families who fall on hard times.  2.  Is to erect, maintain & when neccesary renew or replace permanent memorials to those who served in the Regiment. 3.  To promote comradeship.<br />
The event took place at Balhousie Castle in Perth which is the Regimental home of The Black Watch.<br />
