  • A Mute Swan keeps an eye on it's five cygnets who have taken up residence on the boating lake in Perth's South Inch. The cob (male) and pen (female) usually mate for life with the male providing the materials for the female to build the nest. The female will then lay up to seven eggs during late April and May which hatch after about 35 days. The young cygnets will then stay with their parents for around four or five months.<br />
